Modern booking experience for the inspired traveller

Rocky Mountaineer is recognized internationally as the top rail experience in North America. Their website needed significant enhancements in design, UX and content in order to attract a new generation of young travelers. The website also needed to be accessible to their current clients, a multicultural demographic made up of users that are mostly over 60 years of age.

I was the lead designer on the Rocky Mountaineer website redesign. This included:

  • Interrogating and reworking existing wireframes for better UX and usability
  • Leading visual design
  • Directing interaction animations
  • Creating a new visual language for the sites booking UI

Noteworthy

We created a completely unique cart UI that included several micro interaction animations to help guide the user through a complex booking process. This resulted in a modern, fluid and easy to use booking flow that is appropriate for Rocky Mountaineer’s varied demographic.
